You will find here patterns for experienced crocheters and both beginner friendly crochet patterns made with cotton yarn.

Of course you can! Cotton is actually my favorite fiber to work with, it’s strong and durable, washed easily, and lasts so much longer than synthetic fibers.

And you can find different types of cotton yarns, from mercerized cotton which is more sturdy and shiny (it’s perfect for home decor) to soft cotton (like King Cole – Cottonsoft DKI used for my Wattle Stitch Blanket) which is great for making garments and summer blankets.

You can also use a cotton blend, like the Knit Picks – CotLin in the Sashay Shawl.

The easy answer is almost anything, you’ll be surprised at how many cotton yarn crochet patterns you will find online!

Cotton is a perfect choice when you make home decor items, especially for items you use in the kitchen and table, such as placemats, pot holders or dishcloths.

Basically, any item you think that you would use a lot and want to last long, can be made with cotton. Like bags, pillows, rugs, and even scarves!

Also, when making baby items is recommended to use cotton which is soft and nice on their skin.

I know that working with fine yarn like Fingering (#1) and Sport (#2) is not always easy, but you can find plenty of beautiful patterns for this kind of yarn!

The obvious thing would be to make a doily, usually with #1 yarn. You can also make a light and airy shawl, or a quick and fun bookmark (perfect gift for book lovers!).
