Zos should introduce rare drops to trials just like they did in vAS HM polymorph. (2024)

Zos been a bit stingy on rewards for the past couple of years, but since last year with Necrom they started giving us access to more collectibles to farm and earn so I was thinking about the older trial Asylum Sanctorum that it was the first trial and for now the only one to really introduce a rare drop mechanic in the game like a lot of MMO's do.
Imo adding rare drops to trials (wether it be pets, house fragments, costumes, maybe cool titles, mounts, personalities, polys etc) to older trials to bring more players to do said trials.
Not sure if people are aware but Endgame been suffering fairly hard since 2022, I think adding more collectibles to older trials will rejuvenate the community, cause let's face it once you done the trifecta there isn't much else to do in the trial, that's why after so many years people still do late night vAS farms, not specifically for the poly but cause the trial is fast and easy but I'm pretty sure adding polys to older content (even maybe dungeons) will only bring good than harm.

I agree. There should be more rare and expensive farmable items. Not just from trials and dungeons, more stuff like Aetherial Dust and Ciphers would be cool, too. Imagine if you had a chance of getting unique pets/outfits/whatever runeboxes when exploring different zones.
Also rare items should be sellable. I hate this trend of bound style pages, runeboxes etc.

The v12 purple Warlock ring used to be this.

    Don't tank

Yes, please. Would be nice to see some unique rewards tied to harder content.
And any other content as well.

No thanks, I don't want to be forced into the pug nightmare that are trials just to get a rare drop because most guild are super ***. You'd complain if PvP got more rare drops to incentivise playing it.

This event is a great example of it.
imo they should leave the rare style drops in after the event.
put stuff from the crown store into the game as rare drops. it's not rocket science, it's obviously doable since they have literally done it for this event.

To underline this, i HATE fishing but there i am, fishing away to get this drop.
Put Rare Drops In The Game.

We used to have an actual button to underline important details

I mean you have those thesis that costs hundreds of millions of gold as rare drop in cyro.
I think adding something close to that but for pve could be nice, obviously add more drops to pvp as well

I'm in four different TRADING guilds and we all still do trials and have fun with it. Trials aren't very hard, dude, most guilds do them. If you think all guilds are super *** then the problem is probably you...
    (Pugs do suck, though.)

And no, I wouldn't complain if PvP got more rare drops - and they already get stuff like the War Torte.

The thing is that these items should be tradable (like the aforementioned vAS polymorph). So no, even if you really really want that item, you aren't forced to do anything. You can just buy it. And if there were rare rewards in all types of content, you'd also be able to find something rare and expensive while doing something you like.

Except they have been slowly pvp exclusive cosmetics that are only purchasable with AP or TV . You know what I do as a non-pvper when there's pvp exclusive rewards I want? I don't complain and instead work for them, and I have them all now.

After the Anniversary "Celebration" I absolutely want even more RNG in my game. Can't wait to run Hel Ra Citadel for 1,000 times to have a shot at some new skin.

Never said they were hard, although I hate being forced into group content. Especially the logistical nightmare that is a 12-man group as opposed to a 4-man group.

Just because you don't want to put the effort in making a group for trials you want to gatekeep everyone else from rare rewards? Doesn't it sound selfish?

Not a fan, people would use that opportunity to sell those runs crazy high to people that can't make it or have issue getting a good group for it and willing to help them to improve or that doesn't have high enough dps. So no, not a good idea.

The one thing the anniversary is proving is that adding some fun cosmetics can bring a new life to older content. Besides the Morrowind event in the past I don't remember Vvardenfell WBs that populated. It feels nice to see ppl around.
I would like to see more of that and not just temporarily.

Yep, absolutely, but it should happen in a reasonable and fun form. It doesn't even have to be tied to some cosmetics (or different kind of grind).

You can't drive long-time engagement with ridiculously low drop rates, since at some point people will either get the desired thing and stop playing that content or they'll simply give up out of frustration and never touch the content (which you don't really want either).

And while talking about it: the depths under the Imperial City actually do have such rare/random loot, yet there's hardly anyone farming it, so I wouldn't consider it a "fix all" solution.

I like this idea, it would probably make certain trials more popular again. Just no fragments or account bound drops please - with the low drop rate it would be the most terrible grind known to mankind.

That's not what's happening with vAS though, so why would it happen with other trials? The drop rate is so low that it doesn't make sense to sell a "poly run" when you can just sell any polys you get.

I am not saying this is a fix all solution, I was simply pointing out the possible positive outcome. And from something that would be easy to implement.
Sure it won't work for everyone everywhere. Nothing will.
No rare drop would make me enjoy IC, but hey, they got me to fish Zos should introduce rare drops to trials just like they did in vAS HM polymorph. (23)

That's been a thing since forever, actually it's better endgamers could sell those rare drops for people that don't want to invest time in PVE
