Salary: From Grade H £29,269 up to Grade I £35,745 per annum pro rata

Hours: Full time 37 Hours Monday -Friday

We are looking for Plumber’s to join our Housing Standards Team working within the areas of Maintenance and Improvements across the county.

Our Service

The Housing Standards Maintenance teamare responsible for ensuring the Councils social housing portfolio of circa 8,400 dwellings is maintained to meet all current statutory, regulatory, and legislative standards.

The role

The core focus of this role is to carry out essential maintenance, refurbishment or construction works on social housing stock to ensure they meet the Decent Housing Standards.

At Plumber Single Trade level, you will:

·Carry out domestic plumbing repairs.

·Record and monitor supplied equipment as necessary.

·Work to expected Health & Safety standardsand safe systems of work.

·Undertake professional, mandatory, and skills-based training.

At this grade further specialisttraining may be required to meet the service needs.

At Multi Skilled Plumber level you will:

·To carry out maintenance and repair plumbing & heating work as per work orders or specification.

·To carry out maintenance and repair work for the secondary trade in which you are trained.

·Record and monitor supplied equipment as necessary.

·Work to expected Health & Safety standardsand safe systems of work.

·Undertake professional, mandatory, and skills-based training.

At this grade further specialisttraining may be required to meet the service needs.

The role will come with a Council vehicle, you will be responsible for carrying out routine vehicle safety checks as required and must ensure compliance with requirements relating to vehicle use and maintenance.

What you will bring

Single Trade Plumber:

You must have relevant qualificationsand experience in a specialist trade relating to domestic plumbing operations, along with experience working in a domestic setting and be familiar with materials, tools and machinery used in the repair, maintenance, or construction of homes. You must have knowledge of understanding of Health and Safety and Building Regulation, and always communicate efficiently and courteously at all levels.

You will be able to provide an out of hours emergency plumbing service on a rota basis.

Multi-Skilled Plumber:

As the above with relevant qualificationsand experience in a specialist trade relating to domestic plumbing, also a working knowledge of other trades associated with the primary area of experience. For example, joinery, plastering and tiling etc…

You will be able to provide an out of hours emergency service on a rota basis.
