WALNUT CREEK POLICE DEPARTMENT2+ weeks agoAgencyARRESTS MADE IN DOWNTOWN ROBBERY Date: December 5, 2023 Case #: 23-38521 Location(s): 1500 block of Bonanza St. Crime Description: Robbery – Penal Code 211 On Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at approximately 7:36 PM, Walnut Creek Police Dispatch received a 911 call of a robbery on the 1500 block of Bonanza St. Walnut Creek police officers responded to the scene and located two victims. The victims said they were approached by three male suspects wearing all black clothing and masks. One of the suspects was armed with a dark-colored handgun. The suspects stole the victim's wallet, pistol-whipped and stole the bag of the other victim, and fled the scene in a white Lexus. The victim who was assaulted sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Walnut Creek Police Detectives, in coordination with the Oakland Police Department, located the white Lexus in Oakland. Walnut Creek Police Detectives arrested two suspects, Elias Alcorn and Daymonee Johnson, and recovered stolen property from this robbery. Both were booked at the Martinez Detention Facility for the following charges with a bail of $250,000: •PC 211 – Robbery •PC 245 – Assault with a Deadly Weapon •PC 182(A)(1) – Conspiracy to Commit a Crime The Walnut Creek Police Investigations Bureau continues to pursue investigative leads related to this incident. WALNUT CREEK POLICE DEPARTMENT2+ weeks agoAgencyHOMICIDE INVESTIGATION Date: December 15, 2023 Case #: 23-37597 Location(s): 1900 block of Camino Verde Circle Crime Description: Homicide – Penal Code 187 On November 27th, 2023 at approximately 3:09 PM, Walnut Creek Police patrol officers were dispatched to a suspicious death in the 1900 block of Camino Verde Circle. Walnut Creek Police Detectives responded to the scene and investigated the case as a suspicious death. Detectives have officially classified this case as a Homicide and are investigating it as such. At this time, we are not revealing the identity of the victim. However, the next of kin has been notified. WCPD Detectives are following up on all leads at this time. WALNUT CREEK POLICE DEPARTMENT2+ weeks agoAgencyA FAIRFIELD MAN IS IN CUSTODY FOR TWO RECENT WALNUT CREEK ROBBERIES November 13, 2023 Case #: 23-34951 / 23-35410 Media Contact: Lieutenant Bruce Jower, jower@walnutcreekpd.com On November 10, 2023, detectives from the Walnut Creek Police Department Investigations Bureau arrested a suspect in Fairfield in connection with two recent robberies. The first robbery occurred on November 3, 2023 in the Burger King parking lot on the 1700 block of N. Broadway. The second robbery occurred on November 8, 2023 at the Autopia Carwash on the 2100 block of N. Main Street. During the investigation, detectives and members of the Central County SWAT Team executed a search and arrest warrant in Fairfield. Detectives ultimately recovered an AR-15 assault style rifle and arrested Malcolm Hale for three weapons violations and two robbery charges. Mr. Hale was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility for the following charges with a bail of $600,000: •Two counts of PC 211 – Robbery •Two counts for PC 182(A)(1) – Conspiracy to Commit a Crime •PC 30305 (A) – Illegal Possession of an Assault Weapon •PC 30305 (A)(1) – Prohibited from owning Ammunition •PC 29800 (A)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm The Walnut Creek Police Investigations Bureau continues to pursue investigative leads related to other recent downtown robberies.
