Missing teens believed to be together

Police are growing "increasingly concerned" for three teenagers from different regions who have gone missing and are now believed to be together. Two girls have been unaccounted for six days while a 17-year-old from Conwy disappeared five days ago.

Initially individual report calls went out from several police forces before it came to light that their cases might be linked. Joshua, 17, who lives near Colwyn Bay, was recorded as missing shortly before 9am on Monday, April 22. He's slim with short mousy hair and is known to wear glasses. What he was wearing when he was last seen remains unclear.

Police launch appeal to find teenage girl missing for two days

Police have launched an appeal to find a teenage girl who has been missing for more than two days. Gwent Police are looking for Abbi Edmonds, 16, who was last seen in Newport.

She was last seen at an address in the city at around 2.30am on Thursday, April 25, the force said. She is believed to be wearing a cream tracksuit and is described as of average build with highlighted blonde hair and brown hazel/eyes. She sometimes wears glasses. She has links to Cwmbran and Cardiff, the force added.

Two dogs removed from property in Carmarthenshire

Two dogs have been removed by police from a house in Carmarthenshire, Dyfed-Powys Police has said. The force issued the following statement: "A warrant under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 has been executed by Dyfed-Powys Police and the RSPCA at a property in Cefneithin Road, Gorslas, Carmarthenshire, this morning (Saturday, 27 April 2024). Two prohibited dogs were removed from the premises, and an investigation is ongoing between the two agencies."

Bear Grylls explains what it's like living on his Welsh island

Life on a private island might sound dreamy but when it comes to his own personal getaway off the Welsh coast TV star Bear Grylls said people "think it’s more glamorous than it is. The 49-year-old real-life Action Man said life on his personal island near Abersoch, Gwynedd, was nowhere near as fancy as people might expect – even if he's had a Hollywood A-lister to stay.

Mum-of-11 used dog chain to 'whip' woman in pub car park

A "fiercely protective" mother-of-11 repeatedly whipped a woman to the face and chest with a metal dog chain in a pu car park, a court has heard. Sara Dale believed the woman had been involved in an altercation with one of her daughters earlier that evening and went to the pub to confront her about it.

£20,000 reward offered as murder suspects remain on the run

Two £10,000 rewards are being offered for information which will help find two men wanted on suspicion of murdering a father-of-seven in Cardiff. Police have launched another appeal to find James 'Jimmy' O’Driscoll, 26, and Corey Gauci, 18, following the death of Colin Richards earlier this month.

Mr Richards died after emergency services were called following a report of a disturbance in the Heol-Y-Berllan and Heol Trelai area of Caerau shortly before 11.30pm on Sunday, April 7. The 48-year-old, who was from Grangetown, died from a fatal stab wound.

'Disneyfication' fears as new tourist attraction approved for Wales

New tourist attraction Sblash, an inflatable water park in Penmaenmawr, has been given the go-ahead from Conwy council planners. Despite promising to bring jobs, encourage tourism, and boost the local economy the project has evoked a mixed response from locals.

Spearheaded by James and Debbie McAllister, who bring years of tourism and hospitality expertise, the plans aim to transform Graiglwyd Springs Fishery into a lively inflatable water playground that could employ up to seven additional staff annually from May until October.

Traffic monitoring service Inrix says there is slow traffic on a road in Cardiff. Its update reads: Slow traffic on A4119 Llantrisant Road inbound before A4054 Bridge Road (The Heathco*ck mini roundabout).

Care home manager used elderly resident's bank card to pay for her Amazon shopping

The deputy manager of a care home stole money from an elderly and vulnerable woman's bank account to pay for a rug and buy items from Amazon. After the woman's death her family were notified that her account was in arrears as a result of the fraud.

Yasmin Barrett, 33, was working at the Taliesin Residential Home in Tonypandy when stole around £400 from Jean Jones, who had become a resident of the home after she suffered a stroke. The fraud took place between 2020 and 2021 with the defendant having access to Mrs Jones' account through her job role as she managed her finances.

Police issue update after boy arrested in connection with Ammanford school 'threats'

Police have issued an update after a 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with alleged threatening messages relating to Ysgol Dyffryn Aman. The youth was arrested in Cross Hands during the early hours of Thursday, April 25.

He has now been released on police bail, Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed, with conditions preventing him from entering the Amman and Gwendraeth Valley areas as well as "entering certain educational establishments". The bail restrictions also include a curfew and prevent him having unsupervised access to social media.

Appeal launched to find man last seen in early hours of the morning

Police are appealing to find a man who was last spotted in the early hours of the morning. South Wales Police has launched an appeal to locate the whereabouts of Alan Davies.

The 58-year-old, from Morriston in Swansea, was last seen walking at 1am on Friday, April 26. Mr Davies was walking in the direction of Heol Maes Eglwys. Police are now hoping that anyone with information about where he may be will come forward.

Stagecoach bus service 5 from Blackwood to Pantside at 8.15am will be running 45 minutes late due to a breakdown, the bus operator has said.

'I woke up in hospital with horrific injuries and memory loss then was told my boyfriend did it'

When Emily Lewis woke up in hospital with horrific injuries to her face and head she had no idea what had happened to her. Moments later her whole world came crashing down when a nurse told her: “Your boyfriend did it”.

Emily had been in a relationship with Thomas Jones for three years before he beat her and strangled her while high on cocaine and alcohol. The attack, which happened overnight between February 18 and 19 last year, saw Emily sustain a head injury 8cm long, 4cm wide, and so deep it reached her skull. Jones also fractured Emily’s cheekbone and left her with bruising all over her face and body.

Stradey Park Hotel protester tried to 'incite' crowd and assaulted police officer

A man used his revving motorbike to "incite" the crowd outside a hotel which was controversially earmarked to house asylum seekers, a court has heard. Philip Murphy also used the bike to "push" a police officer who was trying to keep the peace at the Llanelli demo before riding his machine into the hotel grounds.

Swansea Crown Court heard Murphy, from Swansea, has a long history of serious violent offending including multiple convictions for assault occasioning actual bodily harm and inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Accident in bus station disrupts service in Merthyr

Stagecoach Service 35 in Merthyr will not be running until 8am due to an accident in the bus station, the bus operator has said.

Work to build affordable homes on site of former school set to get underway

Work to build 43 affordable homes on the site of a former Port Talbotschool is expected to begin in the coming weeks. The development, led by social landlord Linc Cymru, will be based on the site of the former Lower Dyffryn School in Port Talbot with funding from the Welsh Government.

The school site, which is based in a densely-populated residential area, was fully vacated in 2018 and has been left derelict since it closed. Plans will now see the construction of 43 affordable properties along with an internal road network, landscaping, and additional car parking.

Armed police called to 'sleepy' snooker hall after woman reports her dad

Armed police were called to a "sleepy" snooker hall after a woman reported her father for carrying a four-inch lock knife. Kelvin Madley, 64, was relaxing at the bar of Trecenydd Snooker and Sports Club, Caerphilly, on April 9 when he was arrested in dramatic fashion, Newport Magistrates' Court heard.
