How To Find Kellogg In Fort Hagen
Conrad Kellogg is first met while the Sole Survivor is still in their cryo pod during the introduction of Fallout 4, cruelly taking their spouse and son from them. Finding Kellogg is the focus of the main questline, as he serves as the main antagonist for the first act of the game. The cold-blooded mercenary has answers to the many questions surrounding the location of Shaun, but luckily, tracking him down is pretty straightforward.
Finding Kellogg takes place during the main questline and will follow directly from the previous quest "Getting a Clue". To trigger "Reunions", you must get into Kellogg's old house in Diamond City with Nick Valentine. There are a few ways to do this, such as persuading Mayor McDonough or stealing the key, but once inside, the house should be searched for clues and the secret room found. After Kellogg's preferred brand of cigars is picked up, Nick will suggest using faithful Fallout 4 companion Dogmeat to track Kellogg, and interacting with the dog outside the house will begin "Reunions".

How To Find Fort Hagan In Fallout 4
Follow Dogmeat Through The Commonwealth
To find Kellogg, you will need to follow Dogmeat as he sniffs out clues along a predetermined trail. Nick will volunteer to travel with you, and you will have the choice to bring him along or keep whichever companion you are currently traveling with. Dogmeat will run fairly quickly, but luckily, the clues he follows are spaced out enough to allow for pauses in case you need to catch up.
Leading you out of Diamond City, Dogmeat will first stop at a pond just south of the settlement. Here you will need to look for a San Francisco Sunlights cigar and pick it up for Dogmeat to carry on. In a doorway to an underpass will be some bloody rags, indicating Kellogg was injured, and after showing them to Dogmeat he will run off. After that, he will lead you along some rail tracks, before stopping at another underpass area where Kellogg sat and drank some Gwinnett Stout.
Along the path there will be scripted attacks from mole rats, mongrel dogs, and a Yao Guai, which will be different variants depending on your level.
Following Dogmeat will lead you across a bridge where several dormant feral ghouls will wake up and attack. The remains of an Assaultron can be found a little further up the road from the bridge, and it can be spoken to for more clues about Kellogg. Dogmeat will then take a path through a forest area, which can sometimes lead to some routing issues with companions, but stick with Dogmeat, and they'll eventually catch up.
After finding each clue, Dogmeat will need to be interacted with so he can get the scent and continue to track Kellogg.
At a wire fence, there are some more bloody bandages to find, which are the final clue needed for Dogmeat. From there it's an easy journey to Fort Hagen, where Dogmeat will stop just outside the main entrance. The main door has been sealed by Kellogg, but speaking to Dogmeat will trigger the next part of the quest.

How To Find Kellogg In Fort Hagen
Clear A Path Through The Synths To Kellogg
There are two ways to get inside Fort Hagen, either through a door in the underground parking lot or a hatch on the roof. The quickest route is the roof hatch, which requires climbing up some scaffolding at the back of the building and picking off a few turrets. Once inside, you will almost immediately be under attack from synths and turrets, but nothing too difficult.
The synths supporting Kellogg in Fort Hagen carry energy weapons, so armor with high energy resistance should be equipped for this mission.
Fort Hagen has a fairly linear path, so there is no need to worry about getting lost or missing an area. The best advice is to take your time as there is plenty of great loot, including Guns & Bullets #2 in the top floor kitchen area, U.S. Covert Operations Manual #6 in a bedroom, and the Energy Weapons Bobblehead in the Fort Hagen Command Center kitchen. There are plenty of terminals to hack to activate Protectrons and deactivate turrets, so Nick is a great companion to have along on this quest if you don’t have the necessary skills.
Kellogg will intermittently speak to you once you reach the Command Center until you reach an area with a sealed door. Kellogg will open this door himself in order to speak to you face to face. Once in the room, Kellogg will initiate dialogue with you and give much-needed clues about how to find Shaun. After the conversation, all that is left to do is defeat him to progress through the main quest of Fallout 4 and enter the second act of the game.
