What is the Carnivore Diet?

A carnivore diet is a diet made of animal foods exclusively. That means we meet all our nutritional needs without vegetables and fibrous plant foods.

It is a phenomenal approach for rapid fat loss, healing autoimmune conditions, depression, anxiety, serious digestive disturbances, and more. (1, 2, 3, 4)

Read our carnivore diet success stories, and you’ll see the results speak for themselves.

No one has to follow a strict carnivorous approach for the rest of their life if they don’t want to. Periods of carnivory can be beneficial as quick health resets to help you learn which foods are optimal for you and which may be causing more harm than good.

Desserts on Carnivore Diet?

Carnivore dieters eat a lot of red meat, eggs, fish, chicken, pork, and organ meats.

What do carnivores eat for dessert?

Honestly, most of them don’t eat any dessert. Others might have a spoonful of raw heavy cream or a glass of raw milk when they want a treat.

Oddly, no one seems to miss sweet recipes too much. It’s rarely a reason for people to stop the diet.

Over time, our taste buds adjust, and more often than not, the obvious benefits of carnivory outweigh any hankerings for sugar. Fatty animal meat and fat are incredibly satiating. It’s quite an eye-opening experience to fuel on these foods exclusively.

Cake, even carnivore cake, shouldn’t be eaten every day, but once in a while (probably) won’t hurt your progress. When a special occasion comes along and makes you wish for a carnivore friendly dessert, try this one!

The recipe below is a great carnivore birthday cake or special recipe for any occasion. Continue browsing through all my carnivore diet dessert recipes for even more ideas!

Easy Carnivore Cake Recipe

When I say easy, I mean EASY!

Have you noticed all carnivore diet recipes are ridiculously easy? That’s just one of the benefits of carnivore-style cooking.

This animal based dessert calls for 5 ingredients and 10 minutes of prep work. Think you can handle that?

What you need:

  • Eggs
  • Sweetener, optional
  • Vanilla extract, optional
  • Whole milk, raw if possible
  • Butter
Carnivore Cake Recipe (6)

Gather the ingredients and preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Beat eggs on high in a large bowl for up to 5 minutes, until thickened.

Gradually add the sweetener, continue mixing until light and fluffy. Mix in vanilla.

In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter for about 2 minutes over medium heat, just until butter melts.

Slowly add to eggs, beat until combined.

Carnivore Cake Recipe (7)

Pour unit a greased 8×8-inch (20×20-cm) baking dish. Bake for 40 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool before serving.

All this beating creates a light and fluffy cake. The texture reminds me of sponge cake while the flavor is similar to flan.

With only 5 ingredients, this carnivore cake certainly does the job. There is no mistake, it’s a real cake! However, it’s not overly decadent or indulgent.

The recipe is undoubtedly animal based and, if made with a keto sweetener, is the perfect addition to your collection of keto carnivore recipes!

Let’s discuss more options for sweetening this almost no carb dessert.

Honey on a Carnivore Diet

Some people do well by adding honey on a carnivore diet.

Carbs are not inherently bad; they are a tool for use in the proper context. Consider your priorities and goals; make the choice that is right for you.

Honey is great food with many nutritional benefits (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) and valuable when used appropriately. Per tablespoon (21 g) of honey, there are 17 g carbohydrate, 3.5 g water, 0 g protein, and 0 g fat. (11)

White Oak Pastures has incredible wildflower honey, so add that to your cart next time you order grass-fed, regenerative meats online!

Suppose this is a baffling topic, and you want some help making a nutrition plan and learning when and how to add carnivore carbs like honey and raw milk. In that case, we’re happy to take a look at your specific situation and offer personalized feedback in our membership forum or a private coaching session.

Keto Carnivore & Strict Carnivore Options

You might want fat loss or body composition improvements and don’t need to gain weight on a carnivore diet. In this case, opt for a keto sweetener instead of honey.

Strict carnivore dieters may find the combination of eggs, milk, and butter to be satisfying enough or want to add just the vanilla extract for a bit of additional flavor.

I love My Sweet Keto’s savory Carnivore Cake. Not only is it beautiful but also a great way to celebrate with something special while not involving any sweet flavors. If you’re not ready to experiment with honey or a keto sweetener and like savory recipes, try her idea instead!

Do whatever is best for your context.
